PPF Warranty — Australia
PPF Warranty Australia.
When you invest in Paint Protection Film, the warranty isn't a footnote — it's a promise. Here's exactly what's covered, what's not, and how we handle it all for you.
Warranty Tiers
10 Years. No Compromise.
Every Project Hiraya installation comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty on premium self-healing PPF. We don't offer shorter-term film. Here's how we compare against the rest of the market.
Covers yellowing, cracking, peeling under normal use. Available in the market — not what we install.
Extended coverage with improved UV and stain resistance. Available in the market — not what we install.
Full coverage including self-healing function, superior stain and discolouration warranty. This is our standard.
Our standard is 10 years — not an upsell. Every Project Hiraya install uses premium self-healing PPF from day one. We don't offer 5 or 7 year film because in Australia's climate — intense UV, extreme summer heat, stone-littered highways — anything less is cutting corners on your investment.
What's Covered
Yellowing & Discolouration
If the film discolours or goes amber under Australian UV conditions, it's a manufacturing defect and fully covered.
Cracking, Peeling & Bubbling
Delamination or adhesive failure under normal conditions is a product failure. We fix it.
Hazing or Clarity Loss
Film should stay optically clear for its rated lifespan. Clouding or haziness is a warranted defect.
Staining from Environmental Contamination
Certain premium film grades cover staining from bug splatter, bird droppings, and normal environmental fallout.
Self-Healing Failure
For self-healing films, the topcoat's ability to repair minor surface scratches with heat is a warranted function of the product.
What's NOT Covered
Physical Impact Damage
Deep cuts, punctures, or impact damage through the film are not manufacturing defects — they're the film doing its job.
Improper Maintenance
Automatic car washes with abrasive brushes, harsh solvents, and high-pressure jets directed at film edges can void warranty terms.
Pre-Existing Paint Defects
PPF protects paint from outside damage. Pre-existing rust, peeling clear coat, or paint defects beneath the film are not covered.
Extreme Use Conditions
Track use, off-road conditions, or vehicle modifications that expose the film to conditions outside its rated use may fall outside warranty scope.
Removal Costs
If film is removed for any reason outside a warranty claim, removal labour is a separate cost.

FAQ
Warranty Questions, Answered.
Does the PPF warranty transfer if I sell my car?
In most cases, yes. Manufacturer warranties on PPF are tied to the vehicle, not the owner — making it a genuine resale value asset. Confirm the transfer terms for your specific film at the time of installation. We document this for you.
Do I need to register my PPF warranty?
Yes — and we handle that on your behalf. Warranty registration is completed as part of the Project Hiraya installation process. Your documentation is ready on handover day.
How do I make a PPF warranty claim in Australia?
Contact Project Hiraya first. We assess whether the issue is a warranty matter, document it, and lodge the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf. You don't deal with the manufacturer directly — we manage the entire process for you.
Can I have warranty work done at a different installer?
Warranty claims generally need to be processed through a certified installer. As your original certified installer, we're your natural first contact. If you've relocated interstate, we'll assist you in being directed to the appropriate authorised service centre.
Does ceramic coating over PPF affect the warranty?
The PPF warranty and ceramic coating warranty are separate and can both be active simultaneously. We maintain records of both installations.
What happens if my paint is damaged under the film?
PPF protects paint from external damage — it is not a sealed chamber. Pre-existing paint issues, water ingress from compromised seals, or factory paint defects that develop beneath the film are outside PPF warranty scope. This is why we recommend a paint inspection or correction before installation.
How long does a warranty repair take?
Most warranty repairs on localised areas are completed within 1–3 business days. We'll give you an honest timeline before any work begins.
Does my car insurance affect my PPF warranty?
No. PPF warranty is a product guarantee from the film manufacturer. It operates independently of your vehicle insurance policy.
Why Your Installer Matters
A Warranty Is Only as Good as the Company Behind It.
Many PPF warranties require installation by a certified applicator. If the film was installed by an uncertified technician, the manufacturer may not honour the warranty — regardless of what you were told at the time.
At Project Hiraya, every installation is performed by certified technicians. Every warranty is registered at the time of installation. Every client receives their warranty documentation before they leave our studio.
That's not common. It should be.
Keep Your Warranty Valid
How to Maintain Your PPF.
Wait 7 Days Before First Wash
The adhesive needs to fully cure after installation. No washing, no pressure, no water jets for the first week.
Hand Wash Only — First Month
Soft microfibre mitt and pH-neutral car wash soap only. No brush contact near the film edges.
No Automatic Brush Car Washes
Ever. Rotary brushes compromise edge seals over time and will eventually cause lifting that voids your warranty.
Clean Contamination Promptly
Bird droppings, bug splatter, and tree sap are acidic. Remove them quickly — prolonged contact can cause staining that falls outside warranty coverage.
Annual Inspection Recommended
Book your vehicle in once a year. A 10-minute check costs nothing and catches minor issues before they become warranty complications.
We Walk You Through It at Handover
Every Project Hiraya client receives a full care briefing at collection. You won't accidentally void your warranty because we didn't tell you.

Change of Vehicle Ownership
All warranties provided for our services apply only to the original customer listed on the installation invoice.
If the vehicle is sold, transferred, or changes ownership, the original warranty is automatically void and no longer applicable.
Warranties are issued to the original client because proper aftercare instructions, maintenance guidelines, and service recommendations are provided directly to them at the time of installation.
Warranty Consideration for New Owner
If a vehicle is sold and the new owner wishes to enquire about continued support, they must:
- Contact us directly
- Provide proof of original installation
- Request a copy of the official aftercare and maintenance guide
Warranty consideration for a new owner is not automatic and may be reviewed at our discretion.
Failure to contact us following change of ownership may result in permanent voiding of warranty coverage.
