Vinyl Wrapping Warranty

1-Year Installation Warranty.

When you invest in a vinyl wrap, you're not just paying for the film — you're paying for professional surface prep, correct installation technique, and long-term finish. That's why we back our work with a 1-year installation warranty.

What's Covered

Our 12-month installation workmanship warranty covers issues caused by installation, including:

Lifting Edges (Edge Lift)

If vinyl edges begin to lift from the vehicle surface due to installation workmanship, this is covered under warranty.

Corners Lifting

Corner lifting caused by improper installation technique on curves, recesses, or tight areas is covered.

Adhesion Problems Caused by Installation

If vinyl fails to bond correctly to the vehicle surface due to installation-related factors, this is covered.

If any of the above occurs within the warranty period and it's related to installation, we'll inspect it and repair the affected area in line with warranty terms.

What's NOT Covered

Physical Damage

Scratches, cuts, tears, or damage caused by external contact, impact, or misuse are not covered.

Improper Maintenance

Damage caused by harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or automatic brush car washes is not covered.

Third-Party Modifications

Any removal, alteration, or repair performed by another party voids the installation warranty.

Environmental Damage

Damage from tree sap, bird droppings, industrial fallout, or other contaminants left on the surface is not covered.

Peace of mind in high-stress areas. This warranty is designed to give customers confidence that their wrap was applied correctly and finished to a professional standard — especially around panel edges, curves, recesses, door handles, mirrors, bumpers, and tight corners.

Lifespan

Vinyl Wrap Lifespan & Supplier Warranty.

Vinyl wrap warranties vary depending on the film brand, colour, finish, and where the vinyl is installed on the vehicle. Many vinyl suppliers offer a limited material warranty (often around 2–3 years for some wrap ranges), but real-world life can be shorter on certain panels due to heat and UV exposure.

Why Roof, Bonnet & Boot Wraps Wear Faster

Some parts of a vehicle get punished more by the environment. The roof, bonnet (hood), and boot (trunk lid) are exposed to strong sun, heat, and UV radiation for longer periods, especially when the car is parked outside.

In Australian conditions, it's common for horizontal or high-sun-exposure panels to show earlier signs of ageing compared to doors and side panels.

Side Panels / Doors

Usually last longer due to less direct UV exposure.

Roof / Bonnet / Boot

Typically have a shorter "best-looking life" due to more direct UV and heat.

Understanding the Difference

Installation vs Material Warranty.

A lot of customers search "vinyl wrap warranty" and assume it's one single warranty — but it's usually two different things:

1 — Our Warranty

Installation / Workmanship Warranty

This covers how the wrap was installed — for example, lifting edges within the first year due to workmanship. This is our 12-month warranty.

2 — Supplier-Based

Vinyl Material / Manufacturer Warranty

This covers the vinyl itself (material defect, premature failure under defined conditions). These warranties vary by film brand and can differ between vertical vs horizontal applications. Supplier warranty depends on the film chosen, but customers should expect shorter lifespan on sun-facing panels.

Durability

What Affects Vinyl Wrap Durability?

"How long does vinyl wrapping last?" The honest answer is: it depends on the film, the install, and how the car is treated. Many guides cite general ranges around 3–7 years for high-quality wraps under good conditions, but harsh sun exposure and poor aftercare can reduce that.

UV and Sun Exposure

Direct sun is one of the biggest causes of colour fade, drying, embrittlement, loss of gloss or finish texture, and adhesive stress on edges.

Panel Location

Horizontal panels like the roof, bonnet, and boot generally wear faster due to higher UV load and heat soak compared to doors and side panels.

Maintenance and Washing

Harsh chemicals, automatic car washes, and aggressive scrubbing can shorten wrap life. Regular gentle washing helps extend the finish.

Vehicle Storage

Garaged cars typically keep wraps looking newer for longer compared to vehicles parked outside every day.

Care Guide

Vinyl Wrapping Warranty Terms.

To keep your vinyl wrap in great condition and avoid unnecessary failures, we recommend:

01

Hand Wash Where Possible

Or use touchless wash to avoid abrasive contact with the film surface.

02

Avoid Strong Solvents

Do not use abrasive polishes or harsh chemical cleaners on wrapped surfaces.

03

Don't Pressure-Wash at Edges

Avoid directing high-pressure water at film edges, especially at close range.

04

Park Undercover When You Can

This makes the biggest difference in Australian sun — garaging extends wrap life significantly.

05

Report Edge Lifting Early

Important Notice

Water Spotting & Warranty Disclaimer.

Water spotting is not covered under warranty. While we provide a 1-Year Installation Warranty covering issues such as corner lifting and edge lifting, water spotting is considered an environmental and maintenance-related issue, not an installation defect.

What Causes Water Spots?

Water spots occur when water is left to dry naturally on the surface. As the water evaporates, it leaves behind mineral and chemical deposits that bond to the vinyl surface.

Common minerals found in water:

  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Silica
  • Lime
  • Iron
  • Sodium
  • Chlorine
  • Other dissolved minerals and salts

Common sources:

  • Tap water
  • Bore water
  • Hard water areas
  • Recycled car wash water
  • Rainwater (which can contain airborne contaminants and pollutants)

Why Washing in Direct Sunlight Causes Water Spots

When washing in hot conditions, the surface becomes extremely warm, water evaporates very quickly, and all minerals and contaminants remain baked onto the vinyl.

This rapid drying can cause mineral staining, patchy spotting, uneven surface appearance, gloss reduction, and visible staining on matte or satin wraps.

We Recommend

  • Washing your vehicle in the shade
  • Washing during cooler parts of the day (early morning or late afternoon)
  • Drying the vehicle immediately with a clean microfibre towel
  • Avoiding letting water air-dry on the surface

Water Spotting Is Not an Installation Fault

Water spotting is not caused by installation technique, not related to vinyl adhesion, not a material defect, and not covered under our installation warranty. It is a maintenance-related condition and can occur on vinyl wraps, factory paint, ceramic coatings, PPF, and glass surfaces.

How to Reduce the Risk of Water Spotting

Avoid washing in direct sunlight

Avoid washing on extremely hot panels

Dry immediately after rinsing

Use filtered or demineralised water when possible

Avoid bore water where possible

Consider a vinyl-safe sealant for added protection

Proper maintenance significantly extends the life and appearance of your wrap, especially on high-exposure areas like the roof, bonnet, and boot.
